Today at work, 9/30/14

Negotiated the beurocracy to get one of our patients to a med psych hospital that will better keep her alive

Led my daily meeting

Opened up a bed for a very psychotic young lady in the community

Last minute got a patient safety planned and back to community

Made sure patient throwing cups got the ativan he needed to calm down

Helped a new depressed patient feel more comfortable in a place filled with people talking to themselves

And enjoyed Pizza Day with the patients

Charting mistake of the day

A large part of my job is reading everyone else's charting and summarize it for the rest of the staff in the morning meeting. We are all overworked and most of us don't love having to write on every patient. So it shouldn't be a surprise that I read some pretty interesting sentences. This was my favorite of the day. "37 year old man presenting for med management...he has a twin aged 14 years old and they both live with his ex-girlfriend" I think he meant "twins" instead of "twin"

Review of Fresh Air's Terry Gross's Interview with Girl's Lisa Dunham

 Derrick: While riding in Audre Lorde today with Super Stace on my way to Costco to buy 8 things for $90 we listened to my all time favorite radio thing of all things, which is Fresh Air. She was interviewing Hannah from Girls and Hannah was awesome of course. I listened to the first 5 minutes and minutes 42-50 which were also awesome. Maybe she was talking about other things other than Girls, but it didn't really matter because she couldn't really do anything that isn't awesome.

Jeremy: Why is she famous?

 Ryan: I don't get it. She is normally funny, right?

Today at Bridges

                                            someone attacked Guillermo.  No one got hurt

                                                      I finally won a court case!

                                         I consulted with my old boss about a very difficult case

My favorite schizophrenic said "things would be different if I wasn't married.  Not sure if it was a threat or a                                                                       pick up line

One of my favorite employee's said she might have to quit

I said good bye and good luck to an 18 year old schizoaffective patient who is doing much better

                                                I trained one of my interns in group

                                            And I still got home by 6:00!

Three things that were difficult today

Derrick walking to work, eating well

Jeremy learning about outsider art, preparing a family for potential electroshock therapy

Where is the count?

Super Stace and I moved to our new apartment last week, which is awesome by the way. Yes, I realize most people my age long ago bought a house, but I believe in baby steps. While unpacking and buying new things for the house, I realized I haven't noticed any traces of my imaginary friend, the count. He has followed me through three different apartments in chicago, one in Yakima, once in Bothell WA, another apartment in Seattle, a little house on Vancouver Island, then a house and apartment back in Yakima. Yet somehow he seems to have gotten lost. I do worry about my count. You here that countie, please come home

Psychopath Test-

Read This is a story about a girl. While at the funeral of her own mother, she met a guy whom she did not know. She thought this guy was amazing, so much the dream guy that she was searching for that she fell in love with him immediately. However, she never asked for his name or number and afterward could not find anyone who knew who he was. A few days later the girl killed her own sister. Question: Why did she kill her sister? Answer: She reasoned that if the guy appeared at her mother's funeral, then he might appear another family funeral. If you answered this correctly, you think like a psychopath. This was a test by a famous American psychologist used to test if one has the same mentality as a killer. Many arrested serial killers took part in this test and answered correctly.
