The Count One of my Imaginary friends is named the count. I first discovered him in the first apartment I lived with Superstace. He would steal all the stuff I was looking for. He especially liked to hide my keys. He also sticks his fingers down my nose at night to make me snore. He is often my best friend, even though I have never actually seen him.

Children at the Gate Review

I am currently finishing up Children at the Gate, which I previously read when I was a junior in high school. I have been wanting to reread it for over a decade. Ryan Oliver thinks it is an incredible book, and it is challenging him to love deeply and without viewing the consequences. The book is asking him to change his life, to constantly confront the world with its own stories, to do everything boldly, including sin. Well, at least he likes the idea even if he doesn't do it. Jeremy Gleed thinks this book is a dangerous slippery slope for young impressionable individuals and thinks we should stick to self help books Derrick Fudge wants to know how someone wrote a book about him before he was born

Imaginary friend

The Little Man in the Closet My first imaginary friend I remember is the man in the closet, who I first discovered when I was about 14. He lived in my closet in my bedroom in my parents’ house (which is now pink and overflowing with dolls). I have never seen him, or if I have seen him, I didn't know it was him. He did a lot of hijinks and things that were really funny back then, but I just can’t remember them now. He may have followed me to Chicago and become the count. Or he may still be in the same closet, hiding from Potty Scotty.

Alternate Reality

Vincent Moon My Alternate Reality Self is named Vincent Moon and is an old man. He is a fantasy life where I become a successful novelist at the very end of a long, full life. He will appear in this blog via a biographer who is writing about his life and mostly his books

New Imaginary friend

I decided that pooh bear isn't as much my imaginary friend as much as my transitional object. I realized that my real imaginary friend is the very mysterious Count, as well as possibly the little man in the closet

Outside in experiment

On a long drive today I decided to imagine and simulate me running in front of my cars. I tapped my fingers to simulate the steps and noticed very quickly I became conscious of my breathing. I spent the next 30 minutes tapping my hands on my legs and moving my feet to the rhythm of my running, and I started to get tired. When any other thought came into my head, I let them visit and I ran past them. The event was pretty fun for me, and it was a little easier than my previous meditation practices, and my mind and heart defiantly got a workout, even if my body didn't. But I don't know if I will try it again, as its existential value doesn't overcome its practical purposelessness or my overall laziness. Overall, I give it a B

Dream interpretation

Last night my dreams were obsessed with finding out if Colin Firth was in any of the Harry potter movies. I had a dream he was in a small part in the 5th and 6th movies. I woke up multiple times, always thinking about Colin firth and Harry potter, and saying that I would look it up in Wikipedia In the morning

My association I came up with wS when I first wondered this, when a Harry potter movie was on TV in my brother-in-law's house. The part where Colin was only in a small part, not fulfilling my expectations for him, associated to an overarching theme in all my life, where I have an expectation that whatever I am doing will make THE big difference I was looking for, but it ends up being a small part in a huge set of stories.

Advice from my imaginary friend

I asked pooh bear what to do about my sore throat and cough. He looked at me real sad for a long time then gave me a hug. I decided I would write my sore throat a haiku
